Megan is an experienced attorney who represents a variety of governmental bodies in the areas of municipal law, zoning and land use, economic development and code compliance and enforcement litigation.

Megan practices in a variety of legal areas within the firm as a civil litigator, zoning and land use attorney and municipal prosecutor. Megan is a member of the firm’s Zoning and Land Use practice. Megan has assisted clients in planning and zoning commissioner hearings and negotiating and drafting redevelopment agreements. Building on her earlier career in planning, Megan is active as a trainer with the American Planning Association, Illinois Chapter in conducting plan commissioner trainings.

Megan works with municipal, park district and township officials in drafting ordinance and resolutions, reviewing contracts and policies and drafting intergovernmental agreements and attending board meetings. She has successfully litigated demolition, abandonment and foreclosure cases.

Megan joined the firm after serving for ten years as an Assistant State’s Attorney. During that time she tried hundreds of bench and jury trials to verdict. Megan worked closely with local law enforcement and investigators to prosecute misdemeanor and felony offenses.

While attending law school, Megan served as the Planning Liaison Manager for the Illinois
Department of Transportation’s Chicago Area Transportation Study. Megan’s familiarity with
federal transportation planning is a resource to assisting client in transit oriented development
and obtaining grants. At CATS, Megan oversaw all eleven Councils of Mayor and over $270
million in Surface Transportation Program funding. Megan also served as the Transportation and
Environmental Policy Analyst for Northwest Municipal Conference. She was the Planning Liaison for the North Shore Council of Mayors and Chaired the Economic Development Committee. Prior to that, Megan was the Transportation Coordinator for the West Central Municipal Conference where she was the Planning Liaison for the West Central Conference of Mayors.
