Greg’s practice includes the thorough and cost-effective defense of Workers’ Compensation and Occupational Disease claims.
Greg defends employers in workers’ compensation and occupational disease claims in all venues throughout the State. His clients include direct insureds, risk pools, and self-insureds. He represents organizations, businesses and individuals engaged in government, manufacturing, transportation, healthcare, hospitality, and service industries. He represents clients at all levels, from arbitrations and appeals before the Illinois Workers’ Compensation Commission, through appeals in the Circuit Courts, Appellate Courts, and Illinois Supreme Court.
Greg is experienced in all aspects of workers’ compensation and occupational disease claims. This includes initial and ongoing investigation, analysis, strategy, witness interviews, site inspections, trial preparation, trial and appeals.
Clients often rely on Greg’s experience with complex injuries and medical issues, including traumatic brain injuries, cancer, blood borne diseases, and injuries to multiple body parts; and for his ability to immediately respond to emergency petitions.
Greg’s more than 35 years’ in practice provide the client with the experience necessary to obtain the best possible result, in a cost-efficient manner, with meticulous and thorough claims handling. Since being prepared is one of the most important factors to resolve a claim in his client’s favor, Greg’s approach includes an often-unparalleled attention to detail.
Greg understands the impact of each claim on the client’s continued operations and how it affects all employees. This assists in his commonsense approach to defend claims and ensure the client’s needs beyond that claim are considered and met.
Greg also collaborates with clients and their attorneys to address issues that intersect with the workers’ compensation or occupational disease claim, such as employee retention and discipline, employment policies, pension claims, and other key matters important to the client’s continued operations and ongoing success.
Greg is available for consultation to meet a client’s needs at any time, including outside usual business days and hours, and to answer questions and assist a client in all matters, whether formally referred to counsel or not.
Greg graduated from Zion Benton Township High School, where he participated in cross country and all facets of theatre productions. He earned a bachelor’s degree in Speech Communications and Theatre, with a History minor, upon graduation from North Central College in 1984. Greg then attended Northern Illinois University College of Law. He earned a Book Award for the highest achievement in Administrative Law and in Corporations. Greg earned his Juris Doctor Degree, Cum Laude, in 1988.
The State of Illinois licensed Greg to practice law in 1988. Since then, he maintained his license, in good standing.
